Pangasius Sutchi |
|||
|
The Pangasius Sutchi , can be found in some parts of Asia. Pangasius
Sutchi does not possess the bottom dwelling habit we usually
identify with most catfishes, but rather occupies the middle of the
aquarium. Occasionally they will swim up to the surface for air. These
fishes are active during the day and enjoy a well lighted aquarium. The
males are more slender than the females and have darker striping. These fishes are very sensitive and need lots of special attention. They become startled easily by any abrupt action in their environment or tapping on the tank. When startled, they will either play dead, or go into a swimming fit, which usually results in them hitting the glass walls. The Pangasius Sutchi was breeded in some parts of Asia by hormone injection of brood stock and artificial fertilization. The fishes normally attain maturity at 4 years and have a weight about 7kg before they were selected for breeding. Pangasius Sutchi are generally a good community fish, as long as they are kept with similar size fishes. They are best kept in a group or school in a large aquarium as they are big eaters and grow very fast in size. | |||
