Black Ghost knife |

The Black Ghost Knife originated from the Amazon River.
The Black Ghost Knife is totally black in colour except it has 2
vertical band at the base of its tail fin. The Black Ghost Knife also has a special
characteristic of
being able to swim well backwards. They are also very sensitive to water pollutants and
medications. This fish is very active in the night, it is very timid and it's best to have hiding places for it to hide. As they can grow up to 50cm, its best to have a larger tank for them. Breeding of Black Ghost Knife in aquarium is possible by "inducing raining" season to the aquarium with the help of large trickle filter or internal spray bar. Black Ghost Knife is generally a good community fish as long as it is kept with similar size fishes. It is not advisable to have a pair of Black Ghost Knife in the same tank as they are territorial and aggressive to their own kind. And if it is comfortable in its surroundings, it could be hand-fed by the owner. It can be kept with Angelfish, Discus, Eartheaters and catfishes.
